Friday 10 January - Prayer

Winter is the most difficult time of year for those who are homeless.  Most of us cannot imagine what it would be like to have to sleep on the streets.  Think how frightened you would be; how difficult it would be to have nowhere to wash, to shower, to use the toilet, to keep your few, meagre possessions safe.  How would we wash our clothes, keep warm, find food?  It is so distressing – yet this is the reality for people living in our town in 2014.  Father God, please help us to do everything we can to help those in distress.  Thank you for Hi’s N Lows, The Glebe Centre, the Street Pastors and the Street Ministry Team.  We pray for all homeless people and those who are on the edges of society.  Please protect them from despair, bitterness and depression and give them the hope that things can improve in the future.
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
