Tuesday 7 January - Prayer

Compassionate and Loving Father, we bring before you the people of the Philippines. Typhoon Haiyan devastated much of the Philippines last month, especially the area around Tacloban. The world responded magnificently, especially the British public. The media has replaced the Philippines with other more current news, but the need is still there and will be for years to come.  Please help us to remember and to pray for the people of the Philippines in the coming months.

“God of mercy, you have shown through your Son’s pain and sacrifice for us that you share our suffering.  Look with pity and tears on the struggles of the people of the Philippines as they try to come to terms with what has befallen them.  May all the energies and expertise of humankind be extended to those affected, and may those who suffer and those who mourn be comforted through your presence with them now.  Amen.”  ( Prayers for Parishes)
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
