Prayer for Friday 7th March

Today, from our church family, we pray for Eileen Barker.

Today is Women’s World Day of Prayer.  The emphasis this year is on Egypt and the service has been written by Christian women living there.  Throughout the 24 hours the same service will be used by different groups of women all around the world.  This year we join in prayer with the women of Egypt.  They have asked for prayers for peace and justice, for victims of oppression and violence, for the hungry and thirsty, those who are abused, for women and children who are trafficked, those affected by HIV or AIDS.  The theme is Streams in the Desert.  There will be a service at St. Paul’s at 12.30 with a shared lunch afterwards.  Revd. Liz Chamberlain will be the speaker.  May we stand in unity with our Christian brothers and sisters throughout the world as we share this service together.  Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
