Today, from our church family, we pray for Sue Ball.
Collect for the Sunday before Lent
“Almighty Father,
whose Son was revealed in majesty
before he suffered death upon the cross:
give us grace to perceive his glory,
that we may be strengthened to suffer with him
and be changed into his likeness from glory to glory;
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and forever. Amen.”
As it is the first Sunday of the month, ‘Messy Church in the Morning’ is meeting in the large hall and we’ll start the morning with tea and toast. Thank you, Lord, for these services which fill our church building with the joy and laughter of children and young families. Thank you for all those who plan, organise and lead the activities and for each and every child who comes to enjoy them.
We pray for the Communion service in church this morning and for the Prayer and Praise service this evening. Loving Father, bless and inspire all who lead these acts of worship. Fill us anew with your Holy Spirit so that we may be fitting disciples for You. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
