Prayer for Sunday 9th March 2014

Today, from our church family, we pray for Heather Barnes.

Collect for first Sunday of Lent

“Almighty God,

whose Son Jesus Christ fasted forty days in the wilderness

and was tempted as we are, yet without sin:

give us grace to discipline ourselves in obedience to your Spirit;

and, as you know our weakness,

so may we know your power to save;

through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,

who is alive and reigns with you,

in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

one God, now and for ever.  Amen.”

We pray for all who are involved in leading our service this morning.  We pray for Simon, Phill, Penny and Margaret and thank you, Lord, for all they do for us at St. Martin’s.  Thank you for the wardens and assistant wardens, the Ministry Team, the PCC, the children’s groups leaders, the choir and musicians, the welcomers, sidespersons and coffee rota volunteers.  Each and every person at St. Martin’s is precious and valuable to you, Lord. Together we make up your Church.  Fill us with your Holy Spirit so that we make go out into the world and grow your kingdom. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
