Our prayers for Walsall this week focus on commerce and industry. We pray for all those who work in the retail, manufacturing and service industries, from company directors to casual employees. We pray for our town centre, for the redevelopment of the Old Square shopping centre and other projects, asking that the works will proceed safely and to budget, and result in new opportunities and prosperity for the people of Walsall. We remember those whose businesses are struggling in the difficult economic conditions, for those who have to take hard decisions about savings and redundancies, and for those who have no work or who are unable to earn enough to support themselves and their families. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
