Collect for 3rd Sunday before Lent:
Almighty God, who alone can bring order to the unruly wills and passions of sinful humanity: give your people grace so to love what you command and to desire what you promise, that, among the many changes of this world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
As we gather for worship today, at Holy Communion and at Messy Church, we ask for your blessing on each one of us. Help us to fix our hearts securely on you, to love what you would have us love, and to desire what you desire. Take from us our restlessness and striving for things that do us no good, and make our deepest longing be for the joy that comes from knowing and loving you, and seeking your will in our lives, for your will is always our greatest good and happiness. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
